Juniors Progress to Final! Final this Tuesday.
Friday, December 9th, 2011Congrats to the Junior Squad who secured a place in the Final of the Junior league on Wednesday against Gongaza. They won 3-0! Conditions were difficult but a strong performance in defence in the first half and a powerful display in the second half saw off the challenge of Gongaza College. The final takes place Tuesday 13th Dec in Templeville with a 2.00 pm kickoff.
Seni Final match Report:
CBC won a hard earned victory over Gonzaga at a windswept Seapoint on Wednesday in the semi final of the Junior League. The Juniors now go on to face Roscrea in the final this coming Tuesday at Templeville Road at 2.00pm. CBC elected to play into the strong wind in the first half and were rewarded for their brave tackling and shrewd retention of the ball but going in scoreless at half time.
With the wind at their backs the second half looked promising and when Ben Mahon knocked over a penalty for a three nil scoreline ear;y on things looked promising. However Gonzaga were nothing if not dogged and the score remained the same till the final whistle. A tremendous effort from the entire team ensured we have lived to fight another day. Congratulations to all of the Junior rugby players at all grades and the work they put in.
