Students may study for either 5 years or 6 years at C.B.C. Monkstown Park.

CBC follows the Curricular programme set down by the Department of Education and Science, which may be amended from time to time in accordance with the Education Act 1998 (sections 9 and 30).

Courses are divided into Junior Cycle, Transition Year (which is optional) and Senior Cycle.

Junior Cycle
Junior Cycle consists of:
First year which is an observation and introductory year.
Second and Third year which lead to the Junior Certificate.

Transition Year
Transition Year is an optional year taken by the majority of students as a transition from Junior Cycle to Senior Cycle.

Senior Cycle
Senior Cycle consists of Fifth and Sixth year during which students follow the programme for the Leaving Certificate.

The Principal allocates students to classes. Subject to sufficient demand and resources, the Board of Management reserves the right to determine on an annual basis the range and level of subjects, including the minimum number of students to justify the offering of a particular subject class.

Students who do not sit internal exams may be required to sit such exams at an alternative time, before proceeding with their course.
