Geography is a mandatory subject for all Junior Cycle students and an optional subject for Leaving Certificate students. In both cycles students study the planets, the water cycle, natural disasters, the formation of mountains, rocks, soils and rivers. The geography course also looks at demographics (population studies), especially problems such as over population and urban sprawl. The curriculum reviews resources their use and misuse as well as how they are collected. The leaving cert course in CBC revisits the junior certificate course but revises all the topics in greater detail. This class shows students the importance of the environment of what we live in and how we affect it.
