Transition Year
All of our Transition Year students will be attending Benildus Pastoral Centre, Upper Kilmacud Road, for a reflective day out on the following dates:

Tuesday 1st May 2012 (4HOC)
Fifth Year
Our whole Fifth Year group will be sharing a day out together on Lugnaquilla, the highest mountainous region of Co. Wicklow. This outdoor retreat will help to symbolise both the students’ preparation for their final year of study and to help nourish their spirituality in nature on the mountain.
Thursday 26th April 2012 (All Fifth Year Tutor Groups).
Feast Day of Blessed Edmund Rice
The college will celebrate Edmund Rice Day on Monday 30th April 2012 with an intimate mass for first and second year students. This is a very significant day on our college calendar, focussing on the life of Blessed Edmund Rice and the tradition of Christian Brothers’ education, both here and throughout the world.
Darkness into Light Walk
At 4am on May 12th 2012, Pieta House will be hosting their annual ‘Darkness into Light’ 5km walk/run. The event begins in several locations around Ireland including Dublin, Cavan, Cork and Limerick with an entry fee of €25 for adults and €15 for students and is a really enjoyable way to raise money for suicide and self-harm awareness. All are welcome to join in the event if an early start is your thing! All the same, starting a walk like this when its dark and finishing just as dawn is breaking is a beautiful symbolic way to give hope to those affected by suicide and self-harm. We hope to see you there! For more details, please visit: http://dil.pieta.ie/
CBC Monkstown Graduation 2012
With not long to go, the staff here at CBC Monkstown would like to wish all our Sixth Year students a very happy graduation for 2012. A personal letter will be going out to all students with the necessary information regarding the big day over the coming weeks. Just to recap, the venue for this year’s graduation will be in St. Patrick’s Church, Monkstown at 6.30pm on Friday 18th May 2012. The graduation dinner will then follow the ceremony in The Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire. Please contact the school office for further information.
