Career Guidance and Counseling
Guidance Counselling plays an important role at CBC. Ms. Dee Murphy is the Guidance Counsellor, and she works in conjunction with the Pastoral Care Team, Teachers, Tutors and Year Heads to provide a comprehensive career guidance and counselling service to all students. Through this service we hope to help students develop an understanding of their talents and abilities, to explore possibilities and opportunities, to grow in independence and to take responsibility for themselves in making informed decisions as they develop as young adults.
Ms. Murphy conducts the 1st Year entrance tests and the Differential Aptitude Tests (DAT’s) in 4th Year. Students are encouraged to utilize the Career Guidance and Counselling service throughout their time at CBC. Some of the services they can avail of include:

Careers Library:
Within the school library, there is an extensive careers information section where students can borrow prospectuses and career information. The school librarian is Siobhan Mercier.
Please keep updated with on-going careers events and information through the website.
Counselling:
Ms. Murphy is also available for counselling to all students should there be any personal issues they would like to address. She also welcomes meetings with parents or guardians who would like to discuss any issue.
