Latin is offered as an option at both Junior Cycle and Senior Cycle at CBC Monkstown. At Junior Cycle, the students learn  about the history and civilisation of ancient Rome. The students build up critical thinking and logical skills with the study of the Latin language itself.

At Senior Cycle, the students study Imperial Rome: the history, architecture, and literature that is the foundation of western civilisation. This is partnered with furthering their studies into the Latin language.

In October 2017, CBC Monkstown had the first school trip to Rome, organised by the Latin and Classics Department.
