Charlotte Quay was the venue for the Docklands Schools Rowing Blitz on a warm and sunny 5th May in Dublin. The CBC students rowed in a coxed quad (4 rowers holding two oars) over a 200m sprint course organised by Rowing Ireland. Three of the four crews qualified for the semi-finals and two then reached the final for the opportunity to win the overall prize. The gold medals were never in doubt as a crew of Giulio Fantini, Niall Monahan, Darragh O’Kane and Fillippo Anderlini led after the first stroke and powered over the line with a three-length win. For all participants it proved to be a really nice taste of the sport and an opportunity to see the potential to take the discipline to the next level.
Great success at this years East Leinster Competition with over 10 athletes medaling and qualifying for the Leinster Finals on the 18th of May.
