Details attached of the CBC Lunch-box Meal Scheme  
CBC Win Leinster Debating Championships! Congratulations to the CBC team of James O'Donoghue and Leon Reilly who on Saturday last, won the final of the Leinster Senior Debating Championships. The final was due to have been held last March and the Covid-19 outbreak forced its postponement. Due to the government's recently increased restrictions on indoor gatherings, the final had to take place on-line, with all the speakers participating via Zoom. The motion for the final was "This House Believes that Cancel Culture is Effective" and Leon and James were on the opposition side. They were joined in the final by another team from CBC, Conor Coveney and Jack Mulhall, as well as other speakers from Castleknock Community College, Belvedere, Terenure, St Peter's Wexford and Loreto Beaufort. This marks a great end to a summer of debating for Leon who was part of the Irish Schools' Team who made it to the World Semi-finals. We are incredibly proud of all four of our students for qualifying for the final and putting in excellent performances in very difficult circumstances. They really did demonstrate the hard work and flexibility that we need to show in these difficult and uncertain times. Friday August 28th: First Year students attend from 9am to 11am (No books/copies required) Sixth Year students attend from 11.30am to 1.30pm (No books/copies required) Monday August 31st: First Year students attend from 8.45am to 12.30pm Sixth Year students attend from 8.55am to 1.10pm Fifth Year students attend from 9.15am to 11.15am (No books/copies required) Third Year students attend from 11.30am to 1.30pm (No books/copies required) Second Year students attend from 1pm to 3pm (No books/copies required) Tuesday September 1st: First, Second and Third Year students attend from 8.45am to 12.30pm Fifth & Sixth Year = Full Day as per timetable Transition (Fourth) Year students attend from 9.15am to 11.30am (No books/copies required) Wednesday September 2nd: Classes for all students as per timetable Apart from Senior and Junior Cup Rugby Squads, there will be no sports/games on Wednesday afternoons until mid-September. Rugby training for other groups and other sports (tennis, table-tennis, rowing, athletics and basketball) will be introduced on a gradual basis, pending public health advice. Thank you, G. Duffy. In line with Government requirements, any student who has been travelling to a country that is NOT on the Government's latest green travel list of approved travel countries should not attend school for any reason for at least 14 days after they return to Ireland. Instead, they are required to self-isolate during this period. We are encouraging this in the interest of the health and safety of our whole school community.
